Westin Advent Calendars 2026: Which One Should You Choose?

Buying a fishing gift gets easier when you know how the angler likes to fish. Westin's 2026 advent calendars range from mixed predator selections to ready-rigged soft lures, a pike-focused box and a calendar built around the Swim family.

This spoiler-free guide compares five options at Rugged Tackle, with a quick way to choose by budget and fishing style. We’ll leave the day-by-day surprises inside the box.

Westin advent calendars at a glance

Prices below are in Canadian dollars and were checked on October 16, 2026. Prices and availability can change; follow each product link for current details.

*North American applications refer to suitable individual lures, not every bait in a calendar. Westin describes the mixed selections around pike, perch and zander; XL Pike is pike-focused. For trout, musky and larger-bait bass fishing in particular, check lure size, weight and rigging against the angler's setup.

Which calendar should you choose?

Predator: a varied fishing gift at $149.99

The Predator Advent Calendar brings together hard and soft lures for an angler who likes trying different presentations. It is the lowest-priced of these five options and a sensible starting point when you want variety without moving into the higher-priced calendars. Choose it for someone who enjoys a mixed tackle box.

Premium Predator: more ways to mix up a session

The Premium Predator Advent Calendar offers a different premium selection of hard and soft lures, with a broader range of hard-lure styles than the standard Predator. At $249.99, it suits an angler who enjoys experimenting with techniques and changing presentations. Many of its lures feature exclusive custom colours.

Premium Ready to Strike: soft lures with the rigging done

At $229.99, the Premium Ready to Strike Advent Calendar is the clear choice here for pre-rigged soft lures. It suits someone who enjoys fishing soft baits and would rather spend their preparation time choosing a presentation than assembling the lure. They will still need a suitable rod, line and leader for the fishing they do.

Premium XL Pike: a focused choice for pike anglers

The Premium XL Pike Advent Calendar puts its $229.99 budget into a soft-lure selection chosen for big pike. If northern pike is the fish your angler talks about most, this is the most focused option in the comparison. Check the individual lure and rigging requirements against their setup rather than assuming it is the same as Ready to Strike.

Original Swim: for the angler who already loves the Swim

The Original Swim Advent Calendar is $369.99 and centres on Westin's Swim family, with different sizes, buoyancies and versions in calendar-exclusive colours. It is a strong fit for someone who already enjoys this style of lure and wants more ways to fish it. Choose it for a Swim enthusiast rather than someone looking for a broad mix of unrelated lure styles.

What do perch and zander mean for a North American angler?

Westin's European descriptions often mention perch, zander and pike. For Canadian and US gift buyers, think about the fishing style behind those names: perch-oriented lure styles can overlap with bass fishing, while zander-style soft-bait presentations may feel familiar to walleye anglers. These are useful technique comparisons, not one-for-one species substitutions.

For a bass or walleye angler, start by comparing Predator, Premium Predator and Ready to Strike, then match the lure sizes, weights and working depths to how they fish. For a pike angler, XL Pike gives you a more focused starting point. If they mainly fish musky, check the actual lure sizes and tackle requirements before choosing; a pike label alone does not make every lure a fit for their musky setup.

Buying a calendar as a gift?

• Working with a budget around $150? Predator is $149.99 before applicable taxes and shipping.
• Choosing between the two $229.99 calendars? Pick Ready to Strike for pre-rigged soft-lure convenience, or XL Pike for a pike-focused soft-lure selection.
• They love changing techniques? Compare the two Predator calendars.
• They already have favourite Westin Swims? Original Swim is the most direct match.

If you can ask only two questions without spoiling the gift, ask what fish they target most and whether they prefer soft baits or hard lures. Those answers are more useful than choosing the most expensive box.

Buying for a dedicated musky angler?

Take a look at the Rugged Tackle Premium Musky Gift Box at $274.99 CAD. Built for North American musky anglers, it brings together glidebaits, soft swimbaits, tail baits and matched rigging. It is a standalone gift box, not an advent calendar, and gives you a more directly musky-focused alternative. See the product page for the current lineup, price and availability.

Three Christmas stocking stuffers for lure lovers

For a smaller festive gift or an extra surprise alongside a calendar, explore Westin's individual 2026 Christmas-edition lures. These products are sold separately from the advent calendars, with a surprise Christmas design inside the packaging.

• Ricky the Roach Shadtail R2F Christmas Edition 2026 — $18.99 CAD. A ready-to-fish, 14 cm sinking soft lure for the pike angler who enjoys a lifelike baitfish presentation.
• Swim Glidebait Christmas Edition 2026 — $24.99 CAD. A 12 cm suspending Swim in festive surprise packaging, suited to someone who enjoys glidebaits or collecting special editions.

Frequently asked questions

Are all five calendars ready to fish straight out of the box?

Ready to Strike is specifically described as a pre-rigged soft-lure selection. The other calendars have different mixes, so check the individual product details for any additional rigging needed. A calendar does not replace the rest of the angler's tackle.

What is the difference between Predator and Premium Predator?

Both combine hard and soft lures. Premium Predator has a different selection with more hard-lure styles and many exclusive custom colours. The choice is about the mix of presentations your angler will use as well as the price.

Is there a calendar for a trout angler?

See the separate Put & Take Advent Calendar 2026, designed around stocked-trout and put-and-take fishing. Check its current preorder status and timing before ordering. Orders containing preorder items are held until all items are in stock under our shipping policy.

Is the Original Swim World Cup Calendar the same product?

No. The Original Swim World Cup Calendar is a separate football-themed product. The Original Swim Advent Calendar in this guide is the Christmas edition. Likewise, the Premium Saltwater Gift Box is a gift box, so it is not included in this five-calendar comparison.

Can I order from Canada or the United States?

Rugged Tackle ships to Canada and the US. For US orders, applicable duties and import taxes are shown and collected at checkout. We ship DDP (Delivered Duty Paid), so you shouldn’t receive a second import-duty bill on delivery. Shipping options and charges are shown at checkout. Allow time for a gift to arrive before the countdown begins.
